2.5.2 Processing Pay Actions

Processing Pay Actions - Similar to processing personnel actions, every pay action - base pay, increases or decreases in pay and the like - must have a paper or an electronic document which tracks the pay action. This activity is called processing pay actions. In most organizations personnel actions are produced by the human resources office and pay actions are produced by the finance office. In a few very efficient organizations, the human resources office provides both services. When this is the case, it is particularly important to have internal controls in place which assure the proper use of public monies.
